The next question is,“What do you do for fitness?” Answer varies. 

Being healthy and fit is one of the most important things in everyone’s life. But what exactly do we have to do to be fit? Walking? Running? Pilates? Yoga? Weightlifting?

Components of fitness

What makes our body fit and healthy? There are components of fitness. Let us see that.

Strength:

For performing daily activities our body needs strength. As strength is one of the most important components of fitness. Strength training exercises such as weightlifting, bodyweight, resistance training, helps in improving muscle mass and maintaining body posture.

Endurance:

Endurance refers to your body’s ability to sustain prolonged physical activity. That is why it is a vital component of fitness. It enhances cardiovascular health by strengthening the heart muscle, improving circulation, lowering the risk of heart diseases. 

Cardiovascular exercise like running, jogging, cycling, swimming,rowing, walking, dancing helps in elevating the heart rate and improves endurance.

Flexibility:

Flexibility focuses on the range of motion available at joints. And refers to the ability of muscles, tendons, ligaments to stretch and move freely.

Flexibility training involves exercises like stretching, yoga, pilates which help to improve muscle elasticity, joint mobility and posture.

Stability:

Stability is actually the ability of the body to make balance and control during movement in day to day life. Stability and coordination are generally overlooked. However, maintaining stability also helps in better movement. Most importantly it helps in core strength also. Because stability exercises more often target core muscles. Vital organs indirectly influence stability through interconnected physiological processes. Stability exercises include squats, plank side plank, deadbug, push ups and many more.

Speed and Agility:

Speed and agility contribute to overall fitness and athleticism. Speed refers to the ability to move quickly and agility refers to the ability of changing direction. These both abilities are crucial for athletic performance and daily activities also. 

Speed and agility training is just for sports is a misconception. Because speed and agility improve your balance, coordination and reaction time. That is the most important reason why someone should do speed and agility training.

Answer is Every component is crucial. It is not ok If someone is flexible but is not able to lift a weight because of lack of strength.

It is not ok if someone has good muscle mass and good strength but does not have good flexibility.

It is not ok if you have flexibility and muscle mass but not speed and agility. 

That’s why you must focus on everything.

Observe your body. See what you need. See where you lack. If you don’t understand then ask a professional person. They will definitely help you. 

Doing exercise is very essential for better living. But going in the right direction is more important than that.
